A 19-year-old Irishman has died after drowning in Australia.
Damien Crosby got into difficulties while swimming in a reservoir in Queensland with his cousin on Saturday evening.
The teenager, from Carrickmacross in Co Monaghan, had been living and working in Australia on a year-long visa.
He was due to return home in June.
Carrickmacross parish priest Monsignor Vincent Connolly said Mr Crosby's parents were devastated.
"They're broken-hearted," he said. "The whole community is in shock.
"We're all praying for them."
Mr Crosby's family is also receiving consular assistance from the Department of Foreign Affairs.
