TWO Drogheda men managed to raise €850 for Haiti after they organised a night of gigs in McHugh's, with all profits being given to Concern.

David Clarke and David Campbell pulled together six bands to rock the Venue on Saturday February 6th, and more than 100 people turned out to support the cause.

'I was watching all the news reports and just thought it was unbelievable what was happening,' says David Clarke.

'This country was so poor before the earthquake struck, so I thought I would try to pull together what I could, and it turned out to be a great night.'

David is studying event management in DkIT, and this is his second fundraiser, his one last year in aid of autism proved also very successful.

'I want to thank all the bands who took part - Rockerfellers, Stones to Sand, Black Swan, Trenchtown and Band Substances, as well as singer Donal, and all the businesses who donated prizes for the raffle, like Fuscia and the Art and Hobby Shop,' he adds.

'McHugh's were also great and I'm glad to have raised a good amount to send to Haiti.'
