HAVE you ever seen someone on TV or in the movies and wondered, what are they like in 'real' life? With Jedward you get exactly what you see. Two free spirits with their very own brand, attitude and future. Their visit to Drogheda's TLT last Friday and Saturday were sell out shows and the lads admitted they were delighted with the response they got on what is by no means their first visit to the Boyneside.
' We've been to Drogheda loads of times. Weren't we at an athletics meeting here?,' John exclaims to his brother, 'Yeh, I think so, with our gran,' Edward replies.
Edward can't get enough of the TLT, decribing the stage as the biggest they'd seen so far on their tour.
'It's great to have a theatre in a place like Drogheda because it's out of the city and gives our fans a great chance to come along and see us. I know there were fans from all parts of the country in the TLT for the shows.'
The success of their first album has really given them a lift, if they did need it at all, and shows like Drogheda brings their talents to a wider audience.
'We met some of the fans when we arrived on Friday afternoon and they were great. We got a huge welcome in Drogheda,' John added.
Jedward mania rolled in to the TLT early on Friday with the stage building beginning at 11am and running right through the day.
By the time the twins arrived at 4.10pm it was nearing completion and fans were already gathering for the 7.30pm start.
And some of the merchandise on sale? - you could buy your very own Jedward head for €3!
Daniel O'Donnell is coming in December to the TLT and is reportedly bringing an incredible set. But will he be selling his hair I wonder? See picture special on page 46.
