Strange Glue plotting gig with Snow Patrol

Making a big splash in the music business, Strange Glue.
DROGHEDA-based band, Strange Glue are now one of 100 nationwide finalists who may play with Snow Patrol at the Guinness Hop Store on Arthur's Day in Dublin next month.
Strange Glue are made up of brothers, Sean and Brian Matthews, Bob Smith and Alan Mullen and have been together for almost a year now. They have already recorded their debut EP, Life in the Bus Lane, which features at least two songs from their planned album due for release in September 2011.
Sean Matthews, lead singer, said that Strange Glue were really enjoying the Guinness 'Our Thursdays' Showcase experience as it gave the band an opportunity to play in a new venue and to a new audience.
He said that he was delighted and pleasantly surprised to win away from home turf.
Strange Glue will next play in Drogheda in the Elbow Room in Laurence's Street on Saturday, August 28th, with doors from 9pm.
A panel of judges from Ireland's music industry will now select six finalists from each region who will perform in four regional finals on August 26th. From that line-up, the support acts will be selected to appear with major acts in Dublin, Galway, Belfast and Cork as part of Arthur Guinness day.
The judging panel for the Guinness Our Thursdays showcase includes members of Snow Patrol, Niall Stokes, editor, Hot Press, and Matt Cook, director of talent, MTV Europe.
As well as Snow Patrol, Paulo Nuttini, The Magic Numbers, Maccabee and Jose Gonzalez will also play during the festival.
