Hawaiian party night for David
HARESTOWN man David McGahon recently celebrated his 21st birthday with the mother of all end-of-summer, Hawaiian-themed, blowout parties!
Held in the Star and Crescent, well over 100 of the DCU student's fellow classmates, friends and relatives packed out the town centre venue, showing off various shades of tan in shorts, shirts and luaus.
'It was a fantastic night, and I was really amazed at how much effort everybody put into dressing up in beach clothes,' says David.
' The cocktails were flowing all night and I have to thank everyone who came, especially those who travelled from Dublin.'
David's mum and dad, James and Denise, were guests of honour, along with his sisters Shauna and Lisa, and brothers James and Alan.
David is studying multi-media at the Dublin college but also works part-time in the Boyne shopping centre cinema.
'Watching free movies all the time is very good for my course,' he laughs, 'and definitely a perk of the job.'
David also partied with his girlfriend Katie O'Brien, his mates from Harestown, and also his former schoolmates in St Ollie's.
'The DJ was brilliant and had everyone up jumping, and afterwards we all went back to a marquee at the house, and I got the guitar out and we started the party again. It was wonderful,' he added.
'I want to thank mum and dad for organising the party. We really celebrated the occasion in style and it was a very memorable night.'
