IWAS working as an air hostess when they banned smoking on airplanes in Ireland. They said it would never work, and that people would stop flying rather than go an hour or so without a puff on their precious fags. But bar the odd eejit who thought you could get away with lighting up in the loos of a confined flying tube without being noticed, it was a success and it would now be inconceivable to see someone smoking on a plane.
