Westcourt hosts Joan's big bash
FRIENDS AND FAMILY TRAVEL FOR EVENT
NIGHT Owl headed out on the town on Friday last to see who was out enjoying the Drogheda nightlife. We first headed over to the Westcourt Hotel where Joan McEvoy was celebrating a very special birthday.
Joan, who turned 70 the previous Wednesday, was celebrating the big occasion with all her family and friends.
It was certainly going to be a birthday to remember as Joan was delighted to be joined by her son, daughter and granddaughter who travelled over from England for the week to enjoy the festivities.
Pictured on the night with the birthday girl was her husband Danny McEvoy, daughter Denise, son in-law Derek, son Tony and his wife Janine and her granddaughter Robyn and her boyfriend Ian Morgan.
The gang couldn't wait to see Joan for her birthday and planned on making the most of their week in Ireland.
The night in the Westcourt was action packed with a meal being served followed by live music from 'Level Two' and then to finish off the night, plenty of songs from DJ Travellin' Tommy.
Another special appearance on the night was from Joan's cousins who travelled over from Devon for the night. Jean and Roy Fox arrived on the Thursday and planned on staying for a long weekend to catch up with their cousin and her family. Joan was delighted to see them and spend the night chatting about the old days.
'We're having a great time so far, it's brilliant to see everybody,' added Roy.
The Westcourt was full of Joan's good friends including Kathleen Reilly from Pearse Park who was pictured with her daughter Caroline Reilly and Oliver and Anne Walsh. Kathleen is a life-long friend of Joan and the pair love to play some golf together.
The whole function was decorated with balloons, posters and numerous pictures on the wall of Joan and all of her family and friends over the years.
Her daughter Denise organised all the pictures while her niece Joan Hillard organised colourful 70th birthday posters for the night which were displayed all around the room.
Her husband Danny helped Joan organise the night and was delighted that his wife was having such a fantastic time.
The pair had more celebrations coming up with their golden jubilee taking place next year.
Also there on the night was Joan's brother Paddy Fox and his wife Bernadette. Joan was pictured with all Paddy's grandchildren who were certainly enjoying the music and were keen to get on the dancefloor. Emily Fox, Ciaran Fox, Holly Dunne, Tadgh Hillard, Ben Hillard, Aoife Fox and Fionn Kierans were up way past their bedtime but were having a blast at the party.
