All roads to Sloan's field
ALL roads, including the ones out of Monasterboice, will lead to Sloan's field on the Collon road in Dunleer on Sunday, September 5th when the Wee County Vintage Show will take place. The location, just off the M1's exit 12 will feature a number of vintage attractions including cars, tractors, threshing mills and steam engines. There will also be many sideshows to keep everyone entertained.
Time for a new cemetery
DURING the whole Celtic Tiger period of the last decade or so there has been many calls by locals in Stamullen for a new cemetery as the old one in the village is full to capacity and has been for many a year.

WHAT an evening was had by the many Tullyallen people who turned up to see the Glen Emmets take on the Sean McDermotts in Ardee last Saturday night in the Junior Championship semi-final, writes PJ McGrane.
Barton Cup golf news
LAYTOWN/ Bettystown got off to a flying start in the first leg of the Barton Cup when they won the first leg away to Dunmurry Hills (Kildare) by three matches to two. Seamus Ward and Tom Reid came from 4 down to win by 1 up, an astounding comeback. JD McGinn and Ivan Feran won on the 17th and Brian Crinion and Philip Duff won their match on the 19th. Padraig Rafferty and young Robert Browne went down fighting, losing on the 20th. Tadgh McHugh and Robert carter also went down to one of Dunmurry's strongest pairs.
Seapoint Pitch and Putt Club
THE Senior winner from the weekend competition was Brian Mc Ginn on a score of 46 gross. Eoghan Coyle was the Intermediate winner on 49 gross. The Junior winner was Gerry Rock scoring 54gross while Jane Fanning took the Ladies competition on 54gross. The finals of the Club Matchplay in all grades were held recently with Brian Mc Ginn taking the Senior prize while the Runner-Up was Barry Mc Quillan.

THE Laytown Foróige club meets every Tuesday evening in the Lilliput Family Resource House.

THE following are the results for the recent competition which was held for the Presidents Trophy at the Royal County Golf Club, Trim on Saturday last:
New bus service
A NEW Rural Transport service will serve the Termonfeckin and Clogherhead areas to Drogheda. The new service is being introduced by Louthlinx and will be provided once weekly on Tuesdays commencing in Clogherhead at 10am and arriving via Termonfeckin to Drogheda outside St Peter's Church, West Street at 10.30am.
Farmers' Market
THE next market is on this Sunday 5th September. All the usual craft stalls along with lots of summer fruits and vegetables available at this time of the year.

'GIRLS Only' blitz is being held at Slane GFC's grounds in Monknewtown on Saturday, September 4th next from 1-3pm. All girls aged between 9 and 14 are asked to come along and join in - and bring your friends! Following that, there will be a second blitz for all girls aged between 9 and 14 in St Mary's Park, Donore on September 11th, again from 1-3pm.
