Bremore walk
THE organisers of last Sunday's heritage Walk to the Passage Tomb Cemetery of Knocknagin and Bremore would like to express their thanks to all of those who turned up for the walk. The day was indeed a blustery one however the rain stayed away and the people there heard from Community Historian Brendan Matthews about the importance of the archaeological landscape of the area.
It has recently been announced by the Drogheda Port Company that the Bremore Port is to go ahead however, there appears to be some confusion as to the exact location of the proposed port. According to sources at Meath County Council the Bremore port is to be located at Gormanstown; that is, on the Meath side of the Delvin Estuary and perhaps in the vicinity of Ben Head close to Gormanstown Army Camp?
