PUBLIC MEETING.
Minister Shane Mc Entee, TD., and Deputy Dominic Hannigan, TD., have confirmed that they will attend a Public Meeting in Teach Raithneach, Starinagh, Collon on Thursday 2nd February at 8.00 pm. Deputy Regina Doherty, TD., has also been invited. Issues of concern to the Association and Community in these difficult economic times will be up for discussion.
These include: The Septic Tank Registration Charge, The Household Charge, Community Employment Scheme Cuts, Care of the Elderly, and Audit Fees and Insurance Costs for Not-for-profit Voluntary Community Organisations. This is the Communities opportunity to express their opinions and views on the issues that currently affect them. Please avail of this opportunity and ensure that there is at least one representative from each household present on the night. On behalf of the Association and Community I would like to thank Minister Mc Entee and Deputy Hannigan for making time to attend Thursday nights Meeting. Gerard Weldon, Secretary.
ACTIVE RETIREMENT.
The next Tir na n-og Social Evening is on Friday 3rd February, starting at 6 pm. Plenty of action, Exercise to Music, Games, Bingo , Refreshments and more. New Members always welcome.
MEN'S SHED
Efforts are being made to establish a Men's Shed at Teach Raithneach. The Men's Shed Project provides a dedicated, friendly and welcoming meeting place for more mature men (over 50) to come together and undertake a variety of mutually agreed activities. There has been a very good response to date. Please register your interest with Gerard on 087/2729154.
