Fr Ryan's retirement mass
THERE WAS a memorable retirement mass for Fr Sean Ryan in St Peter's recently.
He had spent 42 years on the missions in Nigeria and Monsignor Carroll told a great tale about another great man for the missions, Fr Larry Carr SMA. He was from out Termonfeckin way and was a noted Louth footballer too. During one big game against Cavan he apparently missed a great goal chance - 'and people say that's why Larry went on the missions!' he declared.
