Lost weekend

IT was a weekend to forget for Naomh Mairtin. No fewer than four of the Blues teams were bundled out of latter stages of county competitions.
Our under 12 girls' team was beaten in the final of the Louth League on Saturday afternoon, whilst our seniors went down to Newtown Blues in the quarter final of the championship, later on in the day.
Not to be out done, our minors suffered the same fate on Saturday when they lost their semifinal tie in Termonfechin. The laws of average suggested that the Naomh Mairtin ladies intermediate team would have better luck when they fielded against St Pats in the Intermediate championship semi final. Not so, unfortunately, and out they went too.
Yep, our luck was so out last weekend, one felt that if we owned a duck, he surely would drown.
