Postgrad evening at Netwell Centre

Wednesday March 10 2010

POSTGRADUATE opportunities for study and training are now available at the Netwell Centre, Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT).

An open evening to discuss postgraduate opportunities is being held in the Netwell Centre at 7.30pm, on Thursday, March 11th. Further information and registration details are available on the Netwell Centre website (www.netwellcentre.org) or by phoning Dr Ann O'Hanlon on 042 9070501.

The Netwell Centre offers opportunities for graduates to complete higher degrees in psychology, social policy, technology and /or universal design linked to ageing and later life. One funded postgraduate studentship is also available.

This work is also complemented by the Louth Age Friendly County initiative, which aims to identify environmental and social factors that block or contribute to active and healthy ageing. Over 1,000 people around Louth are expected to take part in this survey.

'This is a friendly and supportive environment in which to undergo research, and the wider school values the role of the Netwell Centre in enriching the experience of both postgraduate and undergraduate student population,' says Dr Edel Healy, head of the school.

Netwell Centre researchers are also keen to hear from more adults aged 50+ years to help with their research projects as participants and volunteers.

Further information is available on the website, via the open evening, or by contacting Dr Ann O'Hanlon.
