September in Sonairte
IN keeping with the seasons, in September courses and events at Sonairte will focus on making the most of the nature's bounty. So if you want to learn to make your own preserves, make cider from scratch, or learn how to forge for wild food please visit.
This Saturday, Kathy Marsh will host a full-day course (10am – 4pm) introducing participants to the harvesting and storage of crops. Following in the footsteps of age-old traditions, Kathy will demonstrate a range of techniques for home preserving, such as salting, pickling, and making jams and chutneys.
Then on Sunday, the venue hosts a family holistic health day. Over the course of this day, participants of any age will have the opportunity to sample a range of different holistic healing techniques, from Reiki, to reflexology, acupuncture and shiatsu, Indian head massage and more.
The day will also provide visitors with the chance to learn more about herbal plants, homeopathy and angels, and a range of books and CDs will be on sale.
The day will also include fun, family events including fairies and superheroes, kids fancy dress adventure on Sonairte's Nature Trail (parents bring your own picnic), pottery for kids and face painting.
