Support McGoey's raffle for the Haiti cause

Wednesday March 17 2010

FAIR play to the people in Donal McGoey's pharmacy and of course their suppliers.

At the moment they are running a giant draw with the proceeds going to Haiti. A number of their suppliers came forward with prizes for a grand draw and McGoey's did the rest. The tickets are just € 2 and the prizes are a range of products, too many to mention in this column. Indeed, your best best is to go and have a look at their window and take it from there.

The draw is on Easter Saturday at 3pm in the shop, so there's still time to pick up some tickets.

I HAVE given this a few mentions in the past but it's due another one. Every Thursday night, a number of dance enthusiasts head down to the well appointed St Mary's GFC clubhouse and take part in some great line dancing. The group is known as the Memphis Belles and there's two sessions, for beginners and a little bit more experienced. So you are interested, pop along.

THE Glyde Rangers ladies GAA team is urging everyone to get on their bikes as part of their fundraising drive.

The ladies have organised a 10k fun family cycle on Saturday March 27th, starting at the Rangers clubhouse at noon and taking in a gentle route around the region.

Refreshments will be served along the way.

I SPOTTED a record player of all things in Declan Curran's shop last week. I don't think there's too many of them around anymore, so I presume this is a real one and not a CD player in disguise! HAVE Freda Tighe from Drumconrath driving around in a new car yet? Freda is the latest lucky winner of a car in the Ardee Credit Union draw.
