SET DANCING DAYS

The recent 10th Anniversary of the Termonfeckin Set Dancing weekend at An Grianan proved to be an outstanding success attracting a huge attendance. Local councillor and Chairman of Louth County Council Oliver Tully performed the official opening and this was followed by the launch of a CD by local music group Triskell who provided the music for the Friday night Ceili. This CD can be purchased locally.

The local Corrigan/white School of Dance also added to the success of the launch night. There was huge interest in the various workshops which covered Seannos Dancing, Tin Whistle, Flute and Singing. Parish Priest Fr Aidan Murphy celebrated Mass in An Grianan for the visitors and this was the first time Mass was held at the event, made all the more joyous by the Irish music and singing that was provided. The Abbey Ceili Band was also on hand to provide music for the weekend. The atmosphere during the weekend was described as excellent and while the event was heavily booked out there was also great local support. The organisers wish to thank sponsors, An Grianan, Fr Aidan Murphy and those who helped in any way.
