DURING the whole Celtic Tiger period of the last decade or so there has been many calls by locals in Stamullen for a new cemetery as the old one in the village is full to capacity and has been for many a year.

Now that we are in recessional times and land prices have dropped dramatically, would this now not be the time to locate a new cemetery site in the vicinity of Stamullen village.

The population of the area is expanding with a more younger group of children now being raised here, families making Stamullen their home, while older inhabitants also have to look elsewhere for grave-plots.

Moorechurch cemetery is also now full and it is clearly up to the Church and our local Councillors and TDs to facilitate the parishioners of Stamullen and Julianstown with the basic and moral right to be laid to rest within the district or area in which you reside?
