CONGRESS Avenue special needs teacher, Dolores Kierans got exactly what she wanted for her 50th birthday party which was held recently in the Boiled Onion.
'She didn't want any fuss about the birthday and I had a job getting her to go out at all but she had a wonderful night, we all did,' says husband, George Kierans.
Their sons, Niall and Shane, were there for the celebrations, but their other son, Darren was away at a Manchester United game in Britain. Shane's girlfriend, Lynne Aspell, from Hillview was also there on the night.
Now living in Millmount Abbey, Dolores is originally a Carolan from Platin Cross.
Her mother, Berna Carolan and her brothers and sisters, Anthony, Joseph, Patrick, Marie, Breda, and their partners and spouses also enjoyed the meal and party. The only sibling who was missing was Patricia, who lives in California.
George is full of praise for the Boiled Onion which 'was lovely, very nicely decorated. I would recommend it for a celebration'.
The only problem on the night was with George who had broken his ribs playing indoor football in Greenhills a few days earlier.
George who works in Airside Renault, Swords had to draft in the help of his cousin, Rachel Kierans who helped with the running around including collecting the cake from the Mooreland.
'I couldn't have done any of it without her. She really was a brilliant help to me in the days leading up to the party.'
