Caring for The Dale

Dear Sir,
I WISH to commend you for your very interesting and timely article on one of the most historic parts of the borough, The Dale.
I have been requesting at council meetings that action be taken to clean up and restore The Dale. I have also advocated that a long term plan be put in place to conserve and protect this unique area in the heart of Duleek Gate.
Indeed I would include The Mount, Mary Street and the surrounding lanes and steps as part of what is an area of rich heritage and historical significance.
As you rightly put it The Dale is a special place and it is therefore incumbent on Drogheda Borough Council to protect and enhance it in every way. It is a jewel that must be treasured and given constant care.
