Fundraiser for Haiti

Wednesday March 17 2010

THE Children from fifth class in Termonfeckin raised an amazing € 2000 for Haiti at their recent bring and buy sale.

Children from all classes donated their toys and books and the fifth class students co-ordinated the event.

They organised lucky dips, crazy golf, raffles for children and a special teachers raffle as well as fortune telling.

It was a busy week preparing and a very busy Fundraising Friday.

The children of Mrs Sheils 5th class came up the the idea themselves following the news of the Haiti earthquake and worked very hard to organise the event.

Recently, two representatives from the Red Cross came to the school to receive the cheque and they spoke to the class about the work of the Red Cross.

There was great excitement to see the Red Cross ambulance in the yard after the talk and Mr Leech demonstrated the different sirens much to the delight of the younger classes!
