Junction grant

Wednesday March 10 2010

CLLR Frank Maher has said that Louth County Council has received a grant of € 9k from the Department of the Environment for extra safety measures at the Collon Road /Tullyallen Junction.

'There is an ongoing problem with speeding traffic on the Collon Road. It is a cause of particular concern at the Tullyallen junction.

'Some work has already been done by Louth County Council and this grant will mean that extra signage and road markings can be put in place,' said Cllr Maher.

'This is a very busy junction and many people have contacted me about the speed of traffic on the Collon Road. It is vital that these extra traffic calming measures are put in place,' he said.

'I have urged the Council to have the work carried out as quickly as possible' concluded Cllr Maher.
