HUNDREDS of Leprechauns decended on Scotch Hall after the St Patrick's Day parade where Louth Macra Na Feirme attempted to make the Guinness world record for the 'Most amount of people dressed as leprechauns in one place'.

The Guinness world record stipulated that the minimum they could have was 200 people, but they well surpassed this by getting over 300 people to dress up as leprechauns.

Groups and organisations from accross the country, as well as the general public were asked to wear green trousers and Louth Macra Na Feirme provided them with the costumes for the first 250 people, which included a green top hat, red beard and a green frockcoat or waistcoat.

Louth Macra Na Feirme is a voluntary organisation and has four clubs at present: Tu l lya l len , Te r m o n f e c k i n , Stabannon and north Louth.

Men and women from 17-35yrs get together to socialise, play sports, act, debate and compete in a variety of activities, such as attempting world records.
