SERIES OF SEMINARS LINED UP
THE LOCAL Heroes campaign, started back in September as part of an RTE programme, is in full force for 2012, and there are a series of seminars lined-up where experts can help you achieve your goals.
If you fancy a new you with the new year, then the d Hotel this Thursday is for you. A host of speakers are on the bill to to help guide you to your new career. Gavin Duffy will be on hand to help advise businesses on staying afloat in these tough economic times, Michael Comyn, CEO of the Fearless Organisation presents 'Losing the Fear – Overcoming the Anxiety that can prevent Progress', Orlaith Carmody, Managing Director of Mediatraining.ie – ' Presenting Yourself - Knock them out at that Job or Media Interview' and Julie Cobbe, Stylefish Image Consultant presents: 'Change Your Style and Dress to Impress'.

Career development is the number one goal in February.
' We continue with our career clinics in the HUB – days vary in accordance with the consultant's availability and these clinics are in demand, however we will get to everyone so if you are interested please drop into the HUB and complete a registration form,' says co-ordinator Julie Ann Lawler.
' We have also organised a Career and Personal Development Course which starts next Monday for six weeks.'

On February 23rd, a Supporting your Business evening in conjunction with Drogheda Chamber takes place in the Boyne Valley Hotel.
This free event offers information for start up and established businesses – all are welcome to attend. Oh and with love in the air, keep an eye out for some Valentine's Day surprises in Drogheda's shops!
Of course, there are longer term plans underway too.
The retail, tourism, employment / enterprise and communication groups are still meeting regularly to plan for 2012.
Some of the plans in the pipeline include:
- Interactive business seminars – on a monthly basis from March
- Creating effective links with secondary schools and the local business community
- Working with schools to educate the young people about Drogheda's heritage
- An extension of the Young Entrepreneur Program.
Volunteers are also needed in the areas of marketing, online marketing and social media. If you have an interest in this area and an hour or two to spare the team would love to hear from you.
