Lord Mayor's picnic in Boyne Valley Hotel
THEY say a change is as good as a rest, and this year, instead of the usual evening affair, the Drogheda branch of Cystic Fibrosis is holding a Lord Mayor's Picnic, with all proceeds going to the daycare house in Windmill Road.
'We wanted to hold a more family-friendly event for a change this year, as so many of our members are young now, or have young children,' said Rosaleen Reilly of the branch.
'There will be lots of musical entertainment for the adults, as well as activities like bouncy castles, a magician and facepainting for the kids, as well as finger food.'
In fact, Rosaleen's son Mal is heading up the bill, which also includes the Coco Cola Schools Stars top talent Amie Dyer and Baby A.
The picnic, under the patronage of the Mayor Paul Bell, will be held on Sunday June 19th, from 3.30pm to 7.30pm, in the Boyne Valley Hotel, Drogheda.
Tickets are priced at €20 for a family of four, and €10 for an adult and two children, including food and entertainment, and are available from Paddy Kierans hairdressers, Dunleer post office and any commitee member on 9830803.
' We are hoping for good weather, but it will all happen indoors if it rains,' says Rosaleen with a smile.
'We are always looking for volunteers to give us a hand.'
