Macra up for the craic
Wednesday March 10 2010
NORTH Meath Macra are renown for their 'great craic' at the various competitions they take part in around the country.
Well, members will be hoping for no crack when they participate in the Red Bull Gravity Challenge in Belfast next Tuesday, March 16th.
At the Red Bull Gravity Challenge they are looking for people who are prepared to defy gravity with wit and a great deal of imagination.
The challenge is to drop an egg from the dizzy heights of 15 metres and get it to land safe, sound and unscathed.
The boys and girls from North Meath Macra are certainly up for the challenge and are hoping to make it third time lucky after losing out narrowly in the soap box and paper place races of the last two years.
According to North Meath chairman Paddy Meade past Red Bull challenges have provided great days out, lots of fun, and very importantly free crates of red bull to clubs.
For local clubs wishing to take part more information can be had by checking out www.redbull.ie
In the meantime Paddy is hoping that the hens around Lobinstown, Rathkenny and the Sallygardens work overtime over the next few days because they might need all the eggs they can 'lay' their hands on!
For anyone wishing to join the North Meath team contact chairman Paddy Meade on 0876495907. All are welcome.
