Mary never said a bad word about anyone

FONDLY REMEMBERED BY FAMILY AND FRIENDS

Wednesday March 17 2010

MARY Corbally, Kilsaran, Castlebellingham died peacefully in the loving care of the staff of St Oliver Plunkett Hospital, Dundalk, recently.

Mary, or May as she was always known to family and friends, was in her 94th year. She had been a patient in St Oliver's for the last five years.

The only daughter of Jack and Margaret Corbally from Kilsaran, May had to take on the responsibility of her family when her mother died in child birth and when May was a young age.

May who was imbued with traditional values saw her task of looking after the family as her responsibility, and later when the family was reared she went to work in Recketts in Castlebellingham where she remained for over 30 years.

A quiet, deeply religious lady who led a simple life, May enjoyed television in her the comfort of her own home.

Her favourites were the 'soaps', but ironically she loved all sports, especially snooker.

She was a member of the Legion of Mary, a daily Mass goer and contributed generously to many worthy causes and the church.

She will be remembered with great affection by family, neighbours and friends, for she was easy to please and never believed in uttering a bad word against anyone. Her family deeply appreciate the care and attention she received in St. Oliver's over the last five years.

She was predeceased by her brothers, John (Kilsaran) and Jimmy (Dublin) and is survived by nephews, Sean and Gerard, nieces, Patricia, Mary, Margaret, Betty, Ann, and Patricia and by relatives and friends.

Having reposed at Shevlin's Nursing home, May's remains were taken to St Mary's Church, Kilsaran where Requiem Mass was celebrated by Very Rev P McEnroe, PP, Dromiskin who delivered the eulogy.

The Readings were given by niece, Mary Worden and Sean Nolan and the Prayers of Intercesion were led by grand niece, Sandra Butterly and grand nephew, Ciaran Corbally, nephew, Gary Worden and Cecil Johnston.

The Offertory Gifts were presented by nephew, Sean Corbally and his wife, Sheila.

After Mass, burial took place in the adjoining cemetery.

The Month's Mind Mass will be held on March 28th in St Mary's Church, Kilsaran at 11.00 a.m.
