Ramparts in need of attention

Dear Sir,

WITH regard to Hubert Murphy's article in the Drogheda Diary highlighting areas that need attention, I feel the Ramparts walk is one of them.

As a regular user of the park and walk, this area has become dangerous due to the accumulation of mud and water in the area behind the block of apartments on the Rathmullen Road (opposite St Oliver's).

These apartments

have

been closed for over a year and there is a constant trickle of water draining down from them onto the pathway.

At times the only way to get through is to walk on the walk at the edge of the Boyne, which people are doing and this is very dangerous.

The amount of litter on path is also dreadful.

Another area is under the Bridge of Peace. It is permanently flooded due to water pouring

the down from what appears to be a drainage pipe underneath the bridge. You'd need an umbrella at times! and it is not related to rain either.

I have already reported these things to the borough council.

With the GOAL 10k run coming up May I doubt if people will be able to pass this way if something is not done about these problems.
