Students off to the jungle

A NUMBER of students from Drogheda Grammar School head off on May 31st for the trip of a lifetime to Thailand.
The students, who had to raise € 4,290 each for World Challenge, will be accompanied by two teachers and a World Challenge Expedition Leader.
The first leg of the trip will start in Bangkok, then students will make their way to Kanchanaburi on the ThaiMyanmar (Burese) border, where they will visit the famous Hellfire Pass and the site of the WWII railway at the Bridge Over The River Kwai. They will then carry out their acclimatisation phase in the Erawan National Park.
The next leg will bring them to Northern Thailand and Chiang Dao, commencing a seven day trek through jungle areas, and rice and bamboo plantations visiting various hill tribe villages along the way. They will be guests of the villagers and engaged in a building extension project of the local village hall.
