ALSO proving to be a local success story in the weight loss stakes is local TD Fergus O'Dowd who dropped an amazing 35lbs during Operation Transformation.
The Drogheda Fine Gael TD took part in the programme as part of the politicians group, who collectively lost the most amount of weight amongst the groups, an impressive 26 stone 11 pounds, averaging at 25lbs per person.
'It was a wonderful experience, I was delighted with what I lost and its dropping still - I've lost another two pounds since the last show. I'm a big loser!' quipped Deputy O'Dowd.
'Operation Transfor-mation works, the key thing now is to keep it off not to go back to the old ways.'
He said the group spirit, both with the other politicians and the Mumstown group, was instrumental in keeping the momentum going.
' There was great camraderie across the parties. We were all watching each other and cheering each other on. There were a lot of new friendships formed. Everyone was enjoying the fun of it and there is a lot to be said for group activities.'
