Award for Finnegan

EXPERIENCED senior star Ray Finnegan has been rewarded for some outstanding displays in 2011 by being named the Louth Supporters Club Louth Player of the Year.

David Reid will collect the Junior award after a few eyecatching displays earned him a promotion to Peter Fitzpatrick's senior squad, while Jim Mceneaney claimed the U-21 gong.

Aussie Rules-bound Ciaran Byrne picked up the minor award. The St Mochta's man was the U-16 Player of the Year in 2010 and still has another season in the Minor grade.

Cian Doyle succeeded Byrne as U-16 Player of the Year, while Matthew Corcoran of Geraldines netted the U-14 award.

In hurling Shane Callan picked up the senior gong, while St Fechin's duo Donal Ryan and Patrick Lynch won the Minor and U-16 awards respectively.

Cooley's Patricia Marmion was named the Ladies Player of the Year.

Off the field, Geraldines' Annie Renaghan will be rewarded with the Geraghty Cup, Felix Hackett of St Nicholas will receive the Club Worker of the Year award and Damie Callan (Pearse Og) will be inducted into the Hall of Fame. Paddy Whyte and Tommy Hanratty of Dowdallshill GFC will receive the Johnny Mullen Social Initiative Award.
