Draws get green light

THE Meath football and championships draws will take place on Monday, March 29th after the County Committee received the green light from Croke Park regarding the alterations it made to the SFC recently.
The Meath County Committee increased the SFC to 17 teams to accommodate Rathkenny following the relegation wrangle that ensued at the end of last year.
Chairman Barney Allen said at Monday night's meeting that they had forwarded a number of questions to Croke Park and were informed by the Rules Advisory Committee that it was a matter for the County Committee to apply the regulations so long as they were not infringing the rules or the by-laws.
Another special meeting will take place on Monday night ( 8.0) in Teach na Teamhrach to decide on the format for relegation in the various championships.
