Emmets make most of extra man
Wednesday March 17 2010
Glen Emmets 2-10 Lannleire 0-7 THE early dismissal of Patrick O'Connor didn't help Lannleire's cause as they were well beaten on their own patch by Glen Emmets.
For the Tullyallen outfit, this was their second successive comprehensive victory, and they were well on their way when leading by 0-7 to 02 at half-time.
A spirited Lannleire never threw in the towel and equalled their opponents' tally of second-half scores, but Glens' two goals effectively ended the game as a contest.
A minute's silence was observed before the throw-in, in memory of Errol Dunne, whose father – the late Anthony – wore the Lannleire jersey with distinction.
Elsewhere in this section, Wolfe Tones recovered from an opening-round defeat to get the better of Annaghminnon Rovers by 111 to 1-8 in Stonetown.
And St Nicholas had too much firepower at home to St Kevins.
They comfortably got the verdict, 0-13 to 1-1.
