MEATH senior football team manager Eamonn O'Brien is expected to be reappointed to take charge of the Royal County's fortunes in 2011, when the September meeting of the Co Board takes place in Teach Teamhrach next Monday night.

A proposal from the Meath management committee to allow O'Brien continue for a third year will be put before delegates and while there will likely be some dissenting voices regarding the input clubs have into the appointment of the county manager, the proposal should be carried comfortably.

Since replacing Colm Coyle, O'Brien has led the county to the All-Ireland semi-finals in 2009 while this year, in controversial circumstances, they captured the provincial title for the first time since 2001.

One of O'Brien's first tasks will be to appoint a new team trainer after Sean Kelly's recent decision to step down from his role.
