The Dee Mills Memorial Competition was held on Sunday in glorious sunshine. There was a great turnout for this annual event and Bill Mills, our sponsor and husband of the late Dee, was on hand to give out the trophy and prizes to the winners.
Result: 1st Kit Callaghan & Elaine Stack 93, 2nd Marie Black & Sean Brennan 94, Best 18 Martin Branigan & Vera Ball 45 and one-eighth.
Afterwards the members enjoyed a barbecue and fun evening. Mary Flood and Rita Branigan were the chefs for the barbecue and kept everyone well supplied with food and drink.
There was a belated presentation to president Pat Brannigan for his recent 70th birthday, and a great day for the club was enhanced when we heard the Meath gents team had won the Leinster Inter-County Champion-ship. Three of our club members were on the team â?“ Ian Farrelly, Anto Kavanagh and Wally Sheridan. Well done lads.
Laytown
Winners of the August 1st scotch foursomes 36 gross were Paddy Orange and Paddy Halligan.
There will be a competition as usual next Sunday, but not on Saturday as the course is booked.

MacBride
The winner of the recent 18 nett competition was Tommy Dyas (+1-5 Grade) with a superb score of 42 nett, while Marco Vogelaar took the 7-15 Grade after carding an excellent 37 nett.
The Club Matchplay takes place this week and all members who have entered have been notified of their firstround matches. The Noel Gorman Memorial competition takes place this Sunday.
The presentation of prizes for the Summer League, Matchplay and Noel Gorman Memorial will follow afterwards and all members are kindly asked to attend.
Well done to Ryan Connor, Aaron McDonagh, DJ Smyth, Ryan Coyle and Dean Fallon who all proudly represented MacBride at the Leinster Juvenile Strokeplay finals held in Ryston, Co Kildare last weekend.

The club strokeplay will take place next Sunday morning â?“ juniors at 9am, inters at 9.10 and seniors at 9.30. The scramble continues this Wednesday at 6.30pm.
