Cream of the juvenile crop to descend on Bettystown course
LAYTOWN and Bettystown Golf Club will host the East of Ireland Open Juvenile Championships on Tuesday and Wednesday, July 6th and 7th 2010. These competitions for golfers from U-8 to U-21 attract the cream of young players from all over Leinster and from further afield.
The championships commence on Tuesday with U-14 Boys playing for the Becton Dickenson Trophy while the U-16 Girls compete for the Monaghan Cup.
Also on the first day there are competitions for Boys U-12 ( Traders Cup), Girls U-13 (Hoey Cup), Boys and Girls U-10 (O'Kelly Trophy) and the legendary Pee-Wee Trophy for Boys and Girls U-8. On the second day of play in Bettystown the competitions continue with Girls U-21 ( The Drogheda Independent Trophy), Boys U-19 (Bettystown Trophy) and Boys U-15 ( The Joe Carr Trophy).
This year the event is sponsored by local company Beverage Business Solutions. There will be a presentation after play on each evening. Time sheets are now available and entries will be taken on 041-9827563 (9am-5pm Mon. – Fri.)
