Enda and Carla win the big awards at Seapoint
The boys 18-hole competition was won by 10-handicapper Brian Brodigan with 40 points, while Ciaran Hoey (37 points) took second place and the gross winner was Ronan Holcroft. Third place went to Alex Reilly with 33 points.
The nine-hole boys winner was Mickey Kirwan, who pushed nearest challenger Colm Stringer into second place.
The girls 18-hole competition was won by 33-handicapper Maeve McFadden, who scored 32 points. Second place went to Carla Reynolds, who plays off nine, with 29 points, while the third-placed girl, 30-handicapper Rebecca Campbell, finished on the same number of points.
The winner of the girls nine-hole event was Ailbhe McMahon, while Naoise Dunne was the runner-up.
On the evening prizes were presented for all the summer competitions to a
packed clubhouse.The Boys Golfer of the Year Award went to Enda Maguire, who had a very consistent year, reducing his handicap from nine to five.
Carla Reynolds was named Girls Golfer of the Year. She started 2006 with a handicap of 16 and she is currently playing off nine.
Runner-up in the girls section was Maeve McFadden, with Rebecca Campbell in third place.
