Tones prove too strong

JOHNNY Carter's second-half goal was the decisive score as a more experienced Wolfe Tones side claimed victory in this Senior Hurling League clash.
After an evenly contested first half the Drogheda side had eked out the narrowest of leads – 0-6 to 0-5. Both teams seemed to up their game in the second period which was played at a much faster tempo.
That second half-hour was a real test for the respective defences, with Tones fairing better as they limited their opponents to three scores.
