THE newly-opened Barbican Centre will host its first major event this weekend with the staging of Drogheda School of Karate's Annual CrossBorder-Cross-Community Project.
As always the day will feature a tournament involving Drogheda and their guests from Belfast, a skills demonstration by students, DVD photo exhibition and a fun quiz.
As ever, the events are being sponsored by Beverage Business Solutions, and WKF official Oliver Brunton 7th Dan will act as referee.
The tournament, starts at 11am at the William Street venue, followed by the demonstration and then the quiz – subject the Battle of the Boyne – at 2.30pm, followed by the presentation ceremony at 3pm. The Barbican will also host a reception for all the participants at 3.30pm approximately, with the closing ceremony at 5pm.
