Light relief
PATRICK Rafferty from Collon/ Philipstown Boxing Club won the provincial lightweight crown at the National Stadium in Dublin last Wednesday.
The beaten finalist at 60kg in 2009, Rafferty looked to be heading for a similar disappointment when trailing by five points to nil after round one against Stephen O'Connor (Ryston Newbridge BC).
But after launching an all-out attack he went 6-5 in front and then saw O'Connor disqualified for persistent holding.
