This week was the start of the young bird racing and the club had the birds in Thurles.
The birds were released at 8am in a west wind and a good race was had, with most lofts reporting full returns.
The winning bird was timed by Patrick Whelan at 9.46 to record a velocity of 1,590. Other placings: 2nd/3th/4th/5th/6th B&P Emmet & Sons ye! 1,576â?” super flying by Brian.

Birds were up at 7.30am for the Pluadren Kings Cup â?“ J Sharkey 6.54pm, next day 6.15, 7.33, 10.25. P Arthur 7.55. Well done to Joe for getting 11th place.
