Drogheda & District: For early risers, the Dawn Run (4K) will be held on Saturday at 4.30am on the Hill of Tara, Co Meath. Registration is at 3.30am (www.dawnrun.ie). The Michael Manning Dunshaughlin 10K Road Race will also be held on Saturday – at 7.30pm – and the BHAA/Irish Prison Service AC 5K Trail Race will be held next Tuesday at 8pm in the Phoenix Park (http://bhaa.ie).

Dunleer
A reminder to all members of Dunleer Athletic Club, and to all friends and supporters, that the renovated track will be officially reopened next Wednesday at 6.30pm. All are welcome to attend and to walk, jog or run on the track that evening to celebrate the provision of this wonderful local amenity.
Special guest on the night will be four-time World Cross-Country silver medallist Catherina Mc Kiernan.
Catherina was also European Cross-Country champion in 1994 and Rás na hÉireann winner in 1998.
Heart screening takes place that day also for some of the athletes who helped David Carrie and his team with their seven marathons in seven days fund-raising and awareness raising campaign for SADS.
