Chord Celtic twice fight back

MDL DIVISION 3A CHORD CELTIC.................2 KINGSCOURT HARPS......2

Wednesday March 10 2010

CHORD Celtic remain unbeaten after twice coming from behind to force a draw with leaders Kingscourt at Meadowview on Sunday.

Like their previous meeting three weeks ago, Kingscourt played more of the football but Chord created the greater number of chances.

Slack defending from a throw-in led to Harps' lead goal on 20 minutes, but Chord responded when Simon Kelly and Thomas Doherty combined to play in Ciaran Garry who coolly beat the advancing keeper.

Loud claims for a penalty following a challenge on Eoghan Mulroy went unanswered, and 15 minutes from time Kingscourt restored their lead.

However, it was all square again two minutes later when Garry's shot was fumbled and Mulroy was on hand to tie up the game once more.

The result means Chord still trail Kingscourt by seven points but have six games in hand.
