Crescent through to last eight
MDL debutants Drogheda Crescent booked their place in the O'Neill Shield quarterfinals when they came from behind to beat Glen Abbey on Sunday morning.
Crescent, missing a few first-team regulars, conceded almost immediately when left-back Jason O'Boyle was out-numbered at the back post and the home side took full advantage.
After missing a hatful of chances to equalise, Crescent finally hauled themselves level when Lee Kavanagh converted from a corner kick.
Soon after, Graham Reynolds put them ahead with a fine strike that nestled in the bottom corner of the net.
In the second half Crescent felt they should have had a penalty when Kavanagh seemed to be pulled down, but despite failing to extend their lead the Drogheda side weren't seriously troubled as they completed a fairly comfortable win.
