Dromin set pace
JIM McLoughlin's Dromin United are setting the pace after three games in the MDL Division 1, with maximum points in the bag, eight goals scored and none conceded.
This was a straightforward enough victory in Kentstown, thanks in part to a watertight defence which ensured a fairly quiet afternoon for goalkeeper Tommy Melia.
Derek Duff shot the Louth side into a firsthalf lead when he cut in from the left side before beating the Kentstown netminder at his near post, and Dromin doubled their advantage when Paul Adeniyi shot home from 18 yards in the 66th minute.
The visitors had to play out the last 10 minutes with only 10 players after Neil McLoughlin broke a bone in his hand in an accidental collision with a colleague, but still Kentstown couldn't break them down. DROMIN UNITED: Tommy Melia; Paul Tuite, Ciaran Sheehy, Barry Casey, Ciaran Clarke; Anto McLoughlin, Neil McLoughlin, Ger Conlon, Derek Duff; David Donovan, Paul Adeniyi. Subs: Darragh McKeown for Tuite, Robbie Gaffney for N McLoughlin.
