DULEEK got their title challenge back on track after a defeat to fellow contenders Woodview Celtic with a fairly comfortable win over bottom club Torro United on Sunday at the start of a week that stands to have a big say in the destination of the pennant.
With last season's champions Rock Celtic and Woodview meeting on Thursday, Duleek could do their chances a power of good if they manage the same night to beat Albion Rovers, who admittedly are in the middle of a good run and going strongly in the challenge cup.
Two goals in the first 20 minutes put Duleek in control against Torro. Colin Woods scored with a close ranger header when Jamie Flaherty flicked on at the near post a corner kick by Ian Devine in the first ten minutes.
The second goal resulted from another set piece, with Gavin Riordan converting a free-kick by Graham Conway played to the back post with a side-foot volley.
He nearly scored five minutes beforehand with a header from a freekick.
Torro reduced the deficit 14 minutes from time, but it was merely a consolation goal.
