BOYNE Blue scored a decisive victory over EMU Orange in the Under-8 Cup last Saturday.
Things started badly for the unlucky home side when they conceded an own goal, and Ciaran Finnegan and Jay Hughes then found the net with superb strikes.
EMU battled well and did manage to get a goal back, but they had no answer to the firepower in the Boyne attack and Ciaran Finnegan completed a hat-trick, while Jay Hughes chipped in with two and Robert Murphy, Oisin McKenna, Tadhg Everitt and Cian Byrne also scored. -Only needing a draw to make it out of their group and advance to the next stage of the Under-8 Cup, Drogheda Town Hawks picked up a straightforward win against Donacarney Kings.
Jason Doyle's composed finish gave them the lead goal and Rian Byrne and Thomas O'Connell added to the tally to make it 3-0 at the break.
