Flying EMU are bidding to strengthen their squad

Wednesday July 28 2010

EAST Meath United are on the lookout for new players to bolster their squad after two achieving successive promotions in Dublin's AUL league.

The lads will be taking their place in the AUL Senior Sunday League this season and are just one division away from AUL Premier level where some of the participating players go on to represent Ireland at Amateur, Under-21 and Under23 level.

EMU won their place in the Senior Sunday League after finishing runnersup in last season's Division 1 – just desserts for all their hard work, according to their head coach Lee King, the former Drogheda Town coach and Bohemians player.

To prepare themselves for the tough campaign ahead, East Meath have lined up an impressive list of teams to play against in pre-season friendlies, including Drogheda Town, Duleek, Portmarnock and Ballymun United.

The team has been gaining momentum for the past few years, with new players coming on board to add strength and experience, and the club are hoping to continue that trend.

Pre-season training is already under way, but it's not too late to get involved and the senior squad contact is Ciaran Curran who can be reached at 0862624524.
