MDL DIVISION ONE MARSH CELTIC................4 BOHERMEEN...................1
Wednesday March 10 2010
MARSH Celtic moved to within two points of league leaders, Cavan Town with a straight-forward victory over Bohermeen at Drogheda Grammar School on Sunday morning.
Fresh from their cup heroics against Rock Celtic, the home side got off to a flyer when Barry Dyas latched onto a though ball from Danny Coyle to open the scoring after three minutes.
Ciaran Carroll pulled a good chance wide soon afterwards and with their first attack Bohermeen equalised when their striker tapped home a right win cross.
However, Carroll made up for his earlier miss to restore Marsh's lead five minutes later and Conor Murtagh should have put them firmly in the driving seat at half time but somehow headed wide from six yards.
Celtic didn't have long to wait for their third, however as Dale Thornton finished off a good move involving Robbie Criag and Carroll.
The home side took their foot off the gas, but never looked like letting Bohermeen back into the game and Craig added a fourth in the 90th minute after Robbie Daly was hauled down in the box.
