Pentony switch works a treat
NDSL UNDER-13 PREM BOYNE ROVERS...............3 MULLINGAR....................0
Wednesday March 10 2010
THIS NDSL Under-13 Premier game was probably all about the goals that Boyne Rovers could have gotten, rather than the goals scored.
In the first half in particular, the Drogheda side should have scored numerous times. Nathan Murray had many chances, but the ball went wide or just over the top.
Josh Cormican and James Carter both took terrific free kicks which went over the bar, while Thomas Broughton had a shot on goal that was blocked.
In the second half Craig Pentony came off the wing and helped himself to a hat-trick! The first came from a Stephen Winters throw to Broughton who crossed and Pentony flicked over the defender and slotted past the goalkeeper.
The second goal came from a kick-out by Alan SmythWilton which was taken down by Nathan Murray and he crossed to Pentony who headed into the net. Pentony then completed his hat-trick in style.
