Square need boost

MDL PREMIER DIVISION SQUARE UNITED......................2 TRIM CELTIC...............................3

Wednesday March 17 2010

TRIM kept very much in touch with the leaders with this win. With a game in hand they can move to within two points of Rock, but Square could do with points to move out of the scramble to avoid relegation.

Trim went ahead on 15 minutes with a 20 yard free kick flying into the top corner of the net.

Square drew level on the half hour when Dean Leavy was played through by Derek Minogue and he scored from 12 yards.

The visitors went back ahead early in the second-half when the ball broke kindly for the triker in a tussle with goalkeeper Peter Duffy, and he put the ball into the net.

Minogue cancelled out the lead, finding the target from an acute angle after the ball was played over the defence.

A mistake by the central defenders allowed Trim to regain the lead five minutes later, and this time they held onto it. SQUARE: Peter Duffy, Robbie Leavy, Mark Rooney, Diarmuid Durnin, Paudie Carrie, Eamon Callaghan, Aaron Macken, David Woods (Padraig McArdle), Eddie Burke, Derek Minogue, Dean Leavy (Ryan Carroll).
